To instill a spirit of comradeship and love for humanity, in general and community service of the village folk in particular, facilities are provided to willing students with a bit of social service to put in their best alleviating the suffering of the unfortunate brethren inhabiting in rural areas.
The NSS units work under the able guidance of trained NSS Program Officers who guide them properly and chalk out programs the of the inhabitants required to be served. The College has two units of NSS (one for boys and one for girls) each consisting of minimum 100 volunteers. The students have to apply on a prescribed form available free of cost from the College units. A total of 120 hours o f social services besides a short special camp often days duration in the academic session complete the minimum requirement of the Scheme.
Besides the regular annual camp at College level, a special camp at University level is also organized every year, generally during summer break where NSS volunteers with special aptitude for this work from various Colleges are acquainted with more intricate problems of life to be faced by them in their humanitarian work.
