The admission of students to the B.A/B.Sc Part 1 class is open to a student who has passed the Higher Secondary Part II exam (10+2) of J & K State Board of School Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto. The admission is given strictly on merit basis in accordance with college intake capacity for different streams/subject combinations fixed by Higher Education Department/University of Jammu. Whereas, admission to B.Sc. Part I has been restricted to students who obtain 45% or above marks at Higher Secondary Part II level or its equivalent but in case of candidates belonging to categories (as per S.R.0.126 of J&K Govt. Dated 28/06/1994) the percentage for admission is reduced to 40%.
No student with Arts background in Hr. Sec-Part II class shall be permitted in Science stream. However a student with science background may be allowed to join Arts stream subject to availability of seat.
The student shall be admitted for the subject combinations strictly permitted by the University of Jammu and subject to their feasibility in the college vis-a-vis availability of infrastructure, teaching faculty members and intake capacity.
The following categories of students shall not be eligible to seek admission to the college (Session 2010-11)
Candidates who were admitted in BA/BSc/BCA Part I in the previous academic year (2010-11) and were placed under shortage category or did not appear in the annual university examination; Those who have been convicted for moral turpitude or any other criminal offence; Failures/Re-appear in 12th class examination.
Further a candidate who has been placed under reappear category in one subject in B.A / B.Sc./B.Com. Part I and Part II class shall be admitted to Part II and III on his/her own risk and responsibility on the clear understanding that he/she shall qualify the reappear examination within the stipulated period/chances prescribed by the University of Jammu, failing which his/her admission shall stand cancelled.
